Celebrating 35 years of Depilex!

One of the pioneers of the makeup industry in Pakistan, Depilex, has turned 35 this year. To celebrate this anniversary, an exclusive Beauty Bloggers event was held at the newly launched, Depilex College of Cosmetology in Lahore. The event was a fun-filled one and gave a much-need recognition to the beauty bloggers from Lahore and Islamabad. Read on to find out what the event was all about.

Depliex has completed 35 successful years in Pakistan with branches all over the country. The company which started as a small salon has gone on to become one of the biggest brand names in the country with many projects under their umbrella including the Smile Again Foundation, which works to empower acid victims; and Masarrat Misbah Makeup which is a stunning range of Halal makeup. Their latest venture is the Depilex College of Cosmetology which aims to develop and groom the next generation of makeup artists in the country. Currently, the college is based in Lahore, but they have state-of-the-art facilities to accommodate women from other cities also.

To launch and introduce their college, Depilex organized a special bloggers meet, last Sunday and offered us a short makeup course to improve our skills. The event kick-started with a short video on the journey of Depilex, followed by a small speech by Reddah Misbah and Masarrat Misbah. After this, lunch was served to all the participants. The organizers did their level best to ensure that we were made comfortable and soon everyone began chatting with one another over sandwiches.

Lunch was followed by a live makeover. A model was seated while the makeup artist gave her two looks: one for the day time and one for the night. For the looks, used only Masarrat Misbah Makeup products from the foundation to the lipstick. For the daytime, the model was given a pinky, glowy look with a flawless base while for the night one she was given a soft smokey eye, again with flawless, glowy skin. The Makeup Artist explained each and every step of the make over and answered all our questions without any qualms. All the different techniques were explained and shared with us.

Next up, we were asked to recreate one of the looks on our own face. All makeup was provided to us while we had been requested to bring our own tools. I created a soft, earthy look with a plummy lip and glowy cheeks. For my look, I used Masarrat Misbah Foundation in Warm Oak, eyeshadows i

The event concluded with all the bloggers getting certificates from Masarrat and Reddah Misbah followed by a photograph session.

All in all, it was a Sunday well spent for us makeup addicts. We got an amazing opportunity to polish our makeup skills and learn from the best. I am really thankful to Fakhra Khan for arranging this for the bloggers. Her hard work and efforts shined through every step and the Lahori and Islamabadi bloggers cannot thank her enough for this. I learned so much in just a few hours and for this all credit goes to our teacher who was brilliant and explained everything in so much detail with ease.
