Lets Talk Liquid Lipsticks!

Liquid Lipsticks are the rage these days with every brand having their own version of them. I personally love a matte lip and what better way to get that than with a liquid lipstick. I have tried my fair share and while some I have come to love, others have not been too great. In this post, I will round up all the liquid lipsticks that I have tried along with mini reviews and shade suggestions. For reference, I have a wheatish complexion (MAC - NC 30) and yellow undertones.

Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are one of the best in the market. They are super comfortable to wear, apply smoothly and are very long wearing. Need I say more?

Huda Beauty Famous
Huda Beauty broke the internet when she released these Liquid Mattes. The hype surrounding these lipsticks was unreal and I am glad to say that they were well worth the hype. These liquid lipsticks are pigmented, long-lasting and comfortable. However, the formula has a thin consistency which made application a tad bit troublesome.

Kylie Matte Liquid Lipstick in Kristen

Like Huda Beauty, Kylie Jenner's lipkits also took the world by storm and were sold within minutes. I managed to get hold of these a few months after their initial release. However, I was not very impressed with the formula. Though it applied smoothly, the finish was pretty dry and did not feel very comfortable compared to the other liquid lipsticks that I have tried.

Colourpop has two versions of liquid lipsticks: Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin. The latter is not completely matte but compared to the Ultra Mattes it is much better in terms of comfort and formula. Colourpop has a stunning range of colours in both finishes. The ultra mattes are terrible; the formula applies patchily and is so dry that it begins to crack, even with a lip primer. However, it is pretty long-lasting.

On the other hand, the Ultra Satins apply smoothly and much more comfortable to wear. But they are not as long-lasting.

L-R: Give Me Mocha, Berry Recognize, Pink Really Hard

In the drugstore department, the Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick takes the crown. They have a comfortable and smooth formula which lasts long on the lips and does not dry them out. And at only $4.99 a piece, these gems are not to be missed.

L-R: Craze, Loved, Precious, Gorgeous, Sweetheart

You can see from the size of my collection, how much I love these lipsticks. Not only are the colours stunning, the formula is also great. It applies smoothly and does not crack. However, compared to the other liquid lipsticks, some of the shades are a little drying, but nothing that a primer can't fix.

L-R: Burnt Sienna, Rosewood, Strawberry Kissed

Over my course as a blogger, I have come to realize that Sephora indeed in one of the most underrated brands ever. Some of its products are amazing and give other high-end products a run for their money. Sephora Cream Lipstains are pigmented and have a great formula; they apply smoothly and last for hours. Recently, Sephora added almost 40 new shades to its collection so there is bound to be a shade for everyone.

theBalm Liquid Lipsticks have a creamy and smooth texture which makes them easy to apply and the wear comfortable. Plus theBalm is now easily available in Pakistan which means that you should get hold of these asap!

L-R: Monte Carlo, Prague

Probably one of the earliest brands to introduce liquid lipsticks was NYX Cosmetics. While these SMLCs are creamy, smooth and comfortable, the pigmentation and finish is not all that great. You need a couple of swipes to achieve the full intensity and the finish is somewhat semi-matte and not a true matte. However, for the price and the shades offered I would say they are not all that bad.
