Lux Style Awards - Favourites from the red carpet

The annual Lux Style Awards were held amidst a starry and glamorous affair at the Expo Centre in Lahore. Though I have previously attended several star-studded events, this was my first time at an awards show and needless to say it was a lot of fun.

The red carpet affair is always one to remember as celebrities put forward their best fashion fronts. This year's red carpet saw a lot of ethnic wear, which had many people question whether it was a red carpet or a wedding. However, I think it was wonderful to see the stars in ethnic wear as it celebrated our culture. While you can read all about the event here, in this blog post, I will be talking about my favourite looks from the event.

To be very honest, none of the looks were truly breathtaking and I had expected much more. But there were some which stood out more than the others.

Meera Jee

Meera is an icon for a reason. She never fails to make a mark, whether it is on the red carpet or on Twitter, the actor always manages to steal the show. At the awards, Meera was dressed in blue and black saree by Sadia Mirza. Her makeup and hair were styled to perfection, and with that confidence and smile, she won our heart!

Sajal Aly

Sajal wore a white and silver peshwas from Ivy Couture. She left her hair loose with a middle parting and accessorized her look with traditional statement earrings. And with Ahad Raza Mir by her side, the two definitely did make our heart skip a beat.

Sanam Saeed

Sanam Saeed looked svelte in a long off-shoulder pastel pink dress. Her hair was beautifully done in a bun and the drop earrings added the extra oomph to her look.

Juggun Kazim

Juggun opted for a minimal look with a simple black dress and adding bits of gold and bronze to her look with her earrings, clutch and bracelets. Again her makeup was minimal and her hair was done in loose waves.

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak

Saheefa was the only one who made a statement on the red carpet by wearing a shirt which read 'Educate your girls.' Her makeup was also quirky as she opted for a deep, wine lip colour. She completed her look by wearing a pleated skirt and burgundy heels. Though her look wasn't exactly the typical 'red carpet' one, her energy and her confidence made her stand out on the red carpet.

Most of the other ladies on the red carpet pretty much played it safe as far as the makeup was concerned. None of the looks really stood out. I really wish that girls would start wearing statement lip colours in hues of burgundies, hot pinks and fuschias. Maybe next year hopefully, when this trend of nude lips will blow over; it's getting a little boring tbh.

As far as the gentlemen were concerned Ahad Raza Mir and Hamza Ali Abbasi won our hearts or maybe that's because I already have a crush on them! Plus both of them really looked dapper with their mufflers. Hehehe.

Which of these red carpet looks were your favourite?

Love.
