Wafa Khan's 3-Day Basic to Advance Makeup Workshop - Review

They say that "Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students (Charles Kuralt)" and Wafa Khan is the perfect example of such a teacher. Professional, confident, humble, honest and friendly are just a few words to describe this beautiful lady. I was one of the those lucky people who had the honor to attend her 3-Day Basic to Advanced Makeup Workshop in Lahore. Read on for a full (caution: extremely long) review of the makeup class and what we learned.

Before, I begin my review, I would like to point out that the instructor can only tell you the techniques; you will have to perfect your skills yourself. She cannot wave a magic wand over your head and make you magically know everything and become a pro. To become a pro and prefect your skills, you need patience, dedication and practise - this is something my mother has always taught me.

Anyways, coming back to the classes. The outline of the course was extensive and well-spread out over the 3 days. We began with the basics, which included, skin care and prep, before moving on to the makeup, foundation, eyes, highlighting and contouring. Wafa gave us theoretical knowledge, as well as practical demonstrations. She explained all the techniques in detail, mentioning the products that she uses herself or on her clients. Since our class mostly included makeup lovers like myself, we were bubbling with excitement and questions, but Wafa very patiently answered them all. She made us feel extremely comfortable and 15 minutes into the 1st day, we all very chatting like a bunch of magpies, sharing different products and reviews. We were also given a small pamphlet which included notes, a face chart and some blank pages for us to make notes on.

The classes were well-structured, with the first day covering the basics of skincare, undertones, prepping, priming, foundation application, concealing, blending, contouring and highlighting. We discussed the different types of foundations and which tools are best for a flawless and natural finish. Just as a little treat for my readers, Wafa loves her Beauty Blender for a perfect base. After foundation, we learned about color correcting. Next up, we discussed in detail, highlighting and contouring. Wafa told us which colors to use for contouring and which highlighters to use with which makeup and clothes. This part of the class was extremely informative and I learnt how to contour and highlight for an eye-popping face.

The second day of classes was all about eyes. It involved different eye looks for different faces, eye shapes and eye colors. Wafa also taught us how to master the ever-green smokey eye. This also included on how to achieve the bold brows without making them look drawn on. This class also covered blush and lip application, including how to make lips look the perfect size.

On the third and last day of classes, we were to apply all the techniques we learnt onto our face. Wafa supervised all of us, giving us all individual attention and pointing out where we going wrong.

Final smokey eye look that I created.
I am really satisfied with Wafa's classes and I am really glad that I made the decision to attend her classes. They truly taught me alot and I think my makeup has really improved after attending her classes-even my mother approves of it now. Anyone who is interested in makeup and would like to learn the basics or improve their skills can really benefit from her classes and I would highly recommend them to attend these classes. Luckily for us, these classes are also very reasonably priced. I really wish that Wafa would include another day in the workshop on which can practice our skills under her supervision.

At the end of the classes, we all were given certificates of participation and a dupe list.

Love.

P.s. At the end of every class we were served tea and given lunch boxes with yummy food. Also, I was too busy in the workshop and hence the lack of pictures.
